Meet the Librarian

Muranda Hollie- Library Media Specialist

Hi! My name is Muranda Hollie, and this is my third year as a librarian. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Education Degree in Reading. I am a certified reading specialist as well as a certified library media specialist. That is just a big mouthful to say that I basically love reading and love teaching students to read. I believe that no one actually hates reading--they just hate the way they were taught to read. My goal is to help students fall in love with reading again. 

Mission Statement

Welcome to the SMS Media Center. This is, in my opinion, the most magical place on campus. Libraries get a bad rap for being quiet, dead zones that nobody wants to visit. My goal is to change the library climate and transform it into a learning commons. I want students to not only feel welcome, but I want them to feel ownership over the library as well. My mission is to provide a safe place for students to learn, collaborate, and explore.
