Liberty teachers, staff, students, and parents are committed to working cooperatively to create a safe, secure, and nurturing environment that promotes the highest level of academic achievement and character development while empowering our community and meeting the diverse needs of all learners.

At Liberty, we maintain high expectations for all students and adults on our campus. Students are expected to act responsibly and always do their best academically, behaviorally, and socially. We encourage our students to seek additional support whenever they have a problem, need assistance, or have a concern. We also believe that the best way to be aware of your children’s progress is to communicate with your child’s teachers.

I graduated from Northeastern State University in December 2002 with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, eager to begin my journey of nurturing young minds-something I’ve always dreamed of doing. That dream became a reality when I was hired by Sallisaw Public Schools in the summer of 2003, and I’ve been living my purpose ever since. For the past 22 years, Pre-K has been my home, and I can honestly say I’ve never dreaded going to work. My classroom is truly a second home to me. I strive to create an environment where students feel love, grace, compassion, forgiveness and most importantly, a passion for learning. My mission is to foster a family-like atmosphere where we all support on another in becoming the best versions of ourselves every day. Building meaningful relationships with each student and their family allows me to meet every child where they are, understanding their home lives, challenges and experiences. I hope to remain connected with them through both their joys and struggles long after they leave my classroom.

As a teacher, I do more than lead-I observe and engage. Facilitating learning for young children requires creating a supportive, interactive space where curiosity is nurtured. I see myself as a guide, offering children the tools and opportunities they need to explore and navigate the world around them. Outside of school, I love spending time with my large family and enjoying the great outdoors. I have 4 grown children and 9 grandchildren, who are the absolute joy of my life. Most of my evenings and weekends are spent cheering them on at their extracurricular activities.
