Sallisaw High School Football
Sallisaw High School Football is built on a proud tradition of excellence, toughness, and community spirit. As Black Diamonds, our players carry on a legacy that spans decades, with deep roots in hard work, pride, and a passion for the game. From legendary rivalries to memorable playoff runs, the Black Diamond football program has long been a source of unity and pride for our school and town. Sallisaw High School’s football program was established in 1915. Known as the Black Diamonds—honoring the region’s coal mining roots—the team has earned nearly 500 victories, 40 playoff appearances, and four trips to the state championship game. With standout alumni like OU national champion quarterback Steve Davis and a history shaped by dedicated coaches and passionate fans, Sallisaw Football remains a cornerstone of school pride.
Led by dedicated coaches and supported by an incredible fan base, our student-athletes represent Sallisaw with heart and determination. Whether on the field, in the weight room, or in the classroom, our team upholds the values of discipline, integrity, and resilience. We are proud of our past and excited for the future of Black Diamond Football.
