Thank you for your extraordinary support over the past two weeks, as we have worked together to protect our community during the growing coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, we’ve had an increase in the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in our school system as well as a significant number of staff and students having to be quarantined. To further safeguard our students, staff, and families, Sallisaw Public Schools will switch to Distance/Virtual Learning beginning Tuesday, September 8th, 2020. Students will return to in class learning on Monday, September 21st, 2020. If your child exhibits symptoms as of September 21st, please keep them home.
I want to emphasize that we will continue to provide distance learning and expect all students to engage in this process. Our faculty and staff will still be providing daily lessons through Google Classroom. Attendance will be taken, so be sure your child checks in and completes their assignments daily.
Meals will continue to be provided during this time. Breakfast and lunch can be picked up at any school campus cafeteria from 11:00am-12:00pm, for all students grades pre-K through 12. When you arrive, please stay in your vehicle and the cafeteria staff will bring the meals to you.
While we are in the business of educating, our first priority is the safety of our students and our employees. We are grateful for your patience and understanding as we continue to work through this challenging time together.
