Means, Genia
Genia Means attended Belfonte Grade School, first through eighth grade, graduating in 1971. She then attended Muldrow High School and graduated in 1975. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education in 1987 and Masters in Reading in 1992 from Northeastern State University. Mrs. Means began her teaching career at Maryetta Public School in Adair County in 1988. She came to Sallisaw Public Schools in the fall of 1999. Mrs. Means has taught sixth, seventh and eighth grade Reading and sixth grade English. Mrs. Means met her late husband, Tommy Dale Means, at NSU and they had three daughters. Today, her family includes three grandchildren. Mrs. Means believes that each student can learn and become a successful citizen of Oklahoma and the United States.
