
Mrs. Christina Walters was chosen as the Sallisaw High School and Sallisaw Public Schools 2012 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Walters graduated as the Valedictorian of her class from Gans High School in 1985. She went on to attend Northeastern State University, and recieved a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Math Education in 1990. She has been teaching for 21 years, 19 of them at Sallisaw High School. She teaches ACE Algebra, Pre AP Algebra II, Pre AP Trig/Pre Calc, AP Calculus, and is also the Student Council Advisor at SHS. Mrs. Walters has also recieved recognition as the Masonic Lodge Teacher of Today, the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year 3 times, Who's Who Among American Teachers, and Sallisaw High Teacher of the Year twice. She and her husband Bobby, who is the girls varsity basketball coach at Roland High School, have been married for 26 years. They live in Roland with their two daughters, Sidney and Sadie.
