Welcome to Sallisaw Public Schools. It is an honor to have you visit our school system. You will find large amounts of information here, but only a fraction of what takes place in our schools.

We strive to develop "Black Diamond Spirit," and it is alive and well. Our graduates can be found all over our great nation. Our community is a great supporter of the school system. We expect our students to excel in academics and athletics, as well as all aspects of good character. These make a Black Diamond special. We have a caring community with a faculty and staff second to none.

Thank you,
Ron Wyrick, Superintendent

At A Glance
The mission of the Sallisaw Public School is to empower all students to make choices and meet challenges of the future.

All children in the Sallisaw Public Schools will start school ready to learn. Our high school graduation rates will increase to at least 95 percent. All students will demonstrate competency over challenging subject matter including English, mathematics, science, foreign languages, civics and government, and every school in our district will insure that all students learn to use their minds well, so they may be prepared for responsible citizenship, future learning, and productive employment in our state's modern economy.

The Sallisaw teaching force will have access to scientifically-based research programs for the continued improvement of their professional skills and the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to instruct and prepare all Sallisaw students for the next century.

Sallisaw students will be literate and will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in a global economy and exercise the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.

Sallisaw Schools will be free of drugs, violence, and unauthorized presence of firearms and alcohol and be educated in learning environments that are safe, drug free and conducive to learning.

Sallisaw schools will promote partnerships that will increase parental involvement and participate in promoting the social, emotional, and academic growth of children.
