Inclement Weather As colder temperatures creep into the area we are reminded of how quick the weather can become treacherous, making roads impassible. With the possibility of inclement weather on the horizon, we would like to ensure that our lines of communication are open and accurate so we can contact you in the event of school closings or emergencies. Sallisaw Schools will once again be utilizing our automated calling system, SchoolReach, to notify parents and guardians of school closings, emergencies and or upcoming events. Calls will be sent to the primary phone numbers that were provided to us during initial enrollment. If you have changed your phone number or would like to verify your contact information, it is important to notify your child’s school of the request so we can reach you as we strive to keep you informed.
The end of the first quarter has arrived and issuance of report cards is about to transpire. We encourage you to help us monitor your student’s academic growth by evaluating every item that is sent home outlining student progress. In the very near future, you should be receiving: report cards, benchmark scores and for grades 1 through 5, Success Maker results and DIBELS scores which all serve as indicators of academic development.
School is in full swing and the month of September is full of opportunities for you to come support the students in our district. Before we outline the numerous events taking place this month, we’d like to take a moment to express our appreciation to the parents who attended Liberty and Eastside’s Open House and also the parents who attended the orientations held at TSMS and SHS. Your attendance is always desired and appreciated.
